Sal Sanchez (owner) began working at CJ Hendry Co., manufacturer of Elliot liferafts, in August of 1979, as an apprentice learning how to manufacture emergency liferafts for marine and aircraft use. His job entitled from laying out drawings and patterns, preparing and filling CO2 cylinders, assembling hydrostatic releases for USCG and NAVY use, running inspections on liferafts with a USCG inspector.
By working at the factory and learning all faces, from a flat sheet of fabric to a finished product, Sal knows the inside out of a liferaft! This experience has given him a tremendous advantage and knowledge to understand the different types of liferafts on the market.
